About Us

Sunset over rolling green hills with scattered trees, under a cloudy sky.

We are explorers, just like you.

We’ve always believed that the best way to discover a place is to ride through it: slowly, curiously, with open eyes and an open heart.

We started ilgaribaldi because we wanted to share the quiet beauty of the Umbrian hills, not just the landscapes, but the stories, the people, and the small moments that stay with you.
Like falling asleep under the stars after a long ride. Or stumbling upon the ruins of a forgotten church in the forest. Or being invited into someone’s home and leaving as a friend.

This is how we travel. And it’s how we guide.

We offer high-quality e-MTB, gravel, and road bikes, handcrafted routes, and local insights that connect you with Umbria’s land and soul. Whether you're on a guided tour or riding on your own, we're here to help you feel not like a tourist, but like a traveler, present, curious, and at home.

What's behind the name?

Our name, ilgaribaldi, is a nod to the official roadbook of the Giro d’Italia — a legendary guide packed with detailed maps, stage profiles, and every bit of logistical information that riders and teams rely on. Known simply as "Il Garibaldi", it’s a symbol of precision, passion, and deep love for the sport. Just like our tours.
We chose it because we aim to be your trusted guide through Umbria — detailed, thoughtful, and entirely dedicated to the journey.

    Alessio Monarca

    CO-FOUNDER

Alessio is an explorer with a deep appreciation for beauty — not just in landscapes, but in architecture, art, and the rituals of good food and wine. A passionate sommelier, he brings a refined eye (and palate) to every ride, always seeking out that perfect village trattoria or hidden vineyard. He loves cycling for the way it connects people to places — slowly, meaningfully, and with open curiosity.

    Mauro Monarca

    CO-FOUNDER

Mauro has cycling in his blood. A former professional cyclist and natural-born climber, he founded his own bike shop long before ilgaribaldi. When he’s not out pedaling, you’ll find him tending to his garden, caring for the family’s olive trees, and producing small batches of olive oil with the same patience and love he brings to every ride. A true nature lover, Mauro sees cycling as a way to stay connected — to the land, to people, and to a simpler, richer way of life.
